ESW was nominated and named Semi-Finalist for the Small Business of the Year for 2008 from the Indiana Chamber of Commerce. Companies nominated for this award must demonstrate business success, a commitment to their employees and a strong involvement in their communities.

For the fifth time, ESW has been honored by INC. Magazine as one of America's fastest growing companies. ESW is ranked No. 2,012 on the 2013 INC. 5,000 list. ESW also ranked 29th of the top 100 companies in the Education division and 36th in the top 100 companies in Indiana. ESW has been featured in articles in The Times of Northwest Indiana because of this honor.

ESW was founded in 1987 by three industrial veterans: Gene Barbee, Larry Caldwell, and Jim Razumich. They provide custom technical training and engineering services to many industries throughout the United States, including: steel, automotive, energy, manufacturing and the US Government. ESW has furnished thousands of weeks of in-house and in-plant training. Training is mostly hands-on, so that students can gain real-life knowledge from applied demonstrations and examples.

President and CEO Larry Caldwell feels that ESW stands out from the other companies recently honored due to the fact that they actively recruit retired and experienced individuals who are experts in their particular field. 70% of ESW's employees are retirees from other industries, while more than 65% are U. S. military veterans. ESW's seasoned instructional staff has the practical know-how to solve the customer's problems and to lead the employees to work toward their full potential.

The American Legion has awarded ESW Inc. the Employment of Older Workers Award and the Medium Sized Employer of the Year Award for the second consecutive year. ESW proudly accepted these awards on behalf of its experienced and veteran workforce.  ESW was previously recognized by the American Legion in July of 1997 and in 2008. ESW is a 100% U.S. Veteran owned small business. More than sixty-five percent (65%) of its employees are also U.S. military veterans.
